Prayer As A Lamp Of Life Lighting Up My Whole Life And Leading Me To God

Prayer As A Lamp Of Life

Isaiah 30:21 says,

“Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.”

The voice mentioned in this Bible verse is the voice of God that acts like a lamp to bring your feed to the right part when you are about to go astray. That voice enlightens our life when we live in the Spirit through prayers. This prayer of light says it all :

“The light of God surrounds me; The love of God enfolds me; The power of God protects me; The presence of God watches over me. Wherever I am, God is!”

When we contemplate deeply on the words of this prayer, we would not doubt that prayer is just everything we need to light up our lives. I make an effort each day to pray and on days I am inspired, I write a prayer. My written prayers then help me on those dry days that I find it hard to pray. Here are the February ones. You are free to join me to pray by listening or reading and you will never go empty handed. Let us pray,

Mk.6:1-6. Feb 1, 2023. Let me hear you more and more dear Lord

O dearest Jesus, let me hear you more and more. Many voices surround me but who can talk to me or about me so lovingly and consoling like you? Let me hear you more and more sweet Jesus and understand your ways more and more for you alone knows all about me. Loving Jesus, I trust in you. Amen

Lk.22:9-30. Feb 2, 2023. Let me be satisfied with you o Lord

Let me be satisfied with you o Jesus. Let me serve you to the full.  Let me beware always that you are with me. O dearest Jesus, that I may never regret being your friend. That I may be fulfilled and boast of you even when my strength becomes feeble and I’m nearing your door post. I would say, “Now, Master, you may let your servant go in peace, according to your word, for my eyes have seen your salvation…”. Thank you Jesus. Amen

Mt.5:14-16 Feb. 4, 2023. Make me a lamp, Lord.

My Lord and my God,
make me a little lamp,
that do not talk but communicates to everyone.
That do not command but rules.
That do not have life but  helps people’s lives.
That can’t move but helps people move around safely.
That can’t find things but helps people find their things.
That is not powerful, but powerful enough to chase out every darkness.
Oh Lord, make me a little lamp for your glory,
to light up the little world around me. Amen

Mk. 7:14-15 Feb 8, 2023 Make me clean inside out o lord

Purify my body and soul dear Lord and let me be clean inside out.  Wash me and let me be clean. Cleanse my heart from the stains of sin and sanctify my whole being. Sweet Jesus teach me how to do good and be loving. Teach me your gentle ways o Lord. Jesus I trust in you. Amen

Mk 7:25-26. Feb. 9, 2023  I place my family to your care Lord

Loving Jesus, you who always hears the pleas of your children, I place my family to your loving care today. I bring the sick, the stressed, the old and the young. Dearest Jesus please touch everyone of us with you mighty healing hand, heal us and save us. Jesus I trust in you. Amen

Mk.7-37. Feb 10, 2022  Take my mouth and my ears Lord

Prayer As A Lamp Of Life

Loving Jesus, I offer you my mouth and my ears. Take and sanctify them that I may use them for your glory. Help me to hear and speak your word to others without fear. Jesus I trust in you. Amen

Mk.8:2-3 Feb 11, 2023.  Lord, you know all about me

Loving Jesus, I am so glad that you know all about me.
You know when I’m hungry and when I’m thirsty. You know when I’m strong and when I’m weary,  my going out and my coming in.  Each day you mark my ways,  keeps me safe from hunger thirst and all dangers.  You are worthy to be praised.
Our Lady of Lourdes pray for us.  Amen

Mk.8:11-12 Feb. 13 You are present Lord

You show yourself to me all the times Lord. Your presence everywhere I see. In your beautiful creation, in the rivers and seas, mountains and hills, frost and snow, wind and rain, darkness and light, I see your mighty presence. A sign? I do not need, but you sweet love that keeps me whole and happy. It gives me hope, peace, love and happiness for ever. Sweet Jesus, give me your hug and let me hug you in all that I do. Jesus I love you. Amen.

Mk 8:27 Feb. 16 2023. My Lord and my God

Jesus, you are my Lord and my God, the anointed one and Savour of the world. You are my best friend, all I need, all I have. I can’t doubt who you are to me but I may ask myself who am I to you. Are my worthy to be your friend too? Oh Jesus, give me the grace and teach me to be your friend too. I want to know you more and feel you more as my one and only best friend. Help me Lord. Jesus I love you. Amen

Mk.9:2-3 Feb. 18, 2023 You are not far from me Lord

My loving Jesus, you have shown me today that your glory is not far from me. That you and yours are just around me. Yes Lord, you are so close to me. You are right there in those moments of consolation, peace and joy. Those moments I would want to remain enjoying. Let me know that you are always by my side, consoling, directing and revealing to me. Open my eyes like Peter’s to see your glory around me and remain in it. Dearest Jesus I trust in you. Amen.

Mk.9:14 February 20, 2023 You have nursed in my the seed of faith, Lord.

Prayer As A Lamp Of Life

Mighty Jesus, in me you have planted the seed of faith and you want me to let it grow. Lord, I know that in the midst of thorns it can’t grow but if I let it grow like a mustard seed I would be able to moved mountains. Loving Jesus help my short comings that when I denounce them, I should never return to them again. Mighty Jesus I trust in you. Amen

Mt.6:1 Feb.22, 2023  Let’s journey intimately Lord

I come to you today oh Jesus, my Savior and my Redeemer, asking to accompany you on your journey to Calvary. Can we journey together like intimate friends? Can we talk heart to heart on the way? Though I may not be worthy O Lord Jesus, I trust you won’t say no to my invitation. Like never before, dearest Lord, let me see and hear you talking to me on this journey. Give me the grace to see your face, hold your hand and to hear you. Jesus I trust in you. Amen

Mt.9:15 Feb. 23, 2023 You and you alone are mine Lord

My Lord and my God, merciful Jesus, I offer myself to you in a special way this lent. Give me the grace of fasting and prayer, o Lord. I surrender every pain, difficulty and brokenness onto you, that you may make my burden lighter as I journey with you this moment. Only you and you alone can decide for me. Jesus, I trust in you. Amen

Lk.5:27-28 Feb 25, 2023 Help me follow you without hesitation Lord

My Loving Jesus, help me to follow you without hesitation, without reserve. Help my decision, help my efforts, help my determination, my longing and my anxiety to be like you. I may be weak dear Lord but help me by your grace, I pray, that I may never relent my efforts to follow you. You are the only true friend. Thank you Jesus. Amen

Mt.6:7-8  Feb 27, 2023 You teach me to pray Lord

My Father, Abba Father, You are Almighty above all. At the mention of your name, every knee must bow and every tongue confess that you are God, the Almighty. That’s who you are oh Loving Father. Your name is holy, I bow before you and worship you, my Lord and my God.
I surrender to your will, let it be done onto me as you planned from my creation. Give me the grace to conform to your will and only your will. Look not on my unworthiness but my little efforts to worship and adore you my God. Help me to love and forgive truly and give me the strength to resist all trials and temptations on my way. Save me oh Father from the hands of the wicked one and may your kingdom, your power and your glory  reign everywhere, in my life, on earth and in heaven, now and forever. Amen.

R. (22) Lord, let your mercy be on us, as we place our trust in you.

4  Upright is the word of the LORD,
and all his works are trustworthy.

Second Sunday of Lent Year A

Second Sunday of Lent Year A Gospel – Matthew 17:1-9

1  Jesus took Peter, James, and John his brother, and led them up a high mountain by themselves.

2  And he was transfigured before them; his face shone like the sun and his clothes became white as light.

3  And behold, Moses and Elijah appeared to them, conversing with him.

4  Then Peter said to Jesus in reply, “Lord, it is good that we are here. If you wish, I will make three tents here, one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.”

5  While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud cast a shadow over them, then from the cloud came a voice that said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to him.”

6  When the disciples heard this, they fell prostrate and were very much afraid.

7  But Jesus came and touched them, saying, “Rise, and do not be afraid.”

8  And when the disciples raised their eyes, they saw no one else but Jesus alone.

9  As they were coming down from the mountain, Jesus charged them, “Do not tell the vision to anyone until the Son of Man has been raised from the dead.”

in the greatness of your compassion wipe out my offense.
4  Thoroughly wash me from my guilt
and of my sin cleanse me.

and done what is evil in your sight.”
R. Be merciful, O Lord, for we have sinned.

12  A clean heart create for me, O God,

Verse Before The Gospel – Matthew 4:4B

4B  One does not live on bread alone,
but on every word that comes forth from the mouth of God.

    • The Temptations of Jesus.
    Gospel – Matthew 4:1-11

  • 1  At that time Jesus was led by the Spirit into the desert to be tempted by the devil.2  He fasted for forty days and forty nights, and afterwards he was hungry.3  The tempter approached and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, command that these stones become loaves of bread.”4  He said in reply, “It is written:
One does not live on bread alone,
but on every word that comes forth
    from the mouth of God
.”5  Then the devil took him to the holy city, and made him stand on the parapet of the temple,
  • 6  and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down. For it is written:
He will command his angels concerning you
and with their hands they will support you,
lest you dash your foot against a stone
.”7  Jesus answered him, “Again it is written,
You shall not put the Lord, your God, to the test.”8  Then the devil took him up to a very high mountain, and showed him all the kingdoms of the world in their magnificence,9  and he said to him, “All these I shall give to you, if you will prostrate yourself and worship me.”10  At this, Jesus said to him, “Get away, Satan! It is written:
The Lord, your God, shall you worship and him alone shall you serve.”11  Then the devil left him and, behold, angels came and ministered to him.

Verse Before The Gospel – SEE Psalms 95:8

8 If today you hear his voice,
harden not your hearts.

Jesus said to his disciples:
1 “Take care not to perform righteous deeds in order that people may see them; otherwise, you will have no recompense from your heavenly Father.

2 When you give alms, do not blow a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets to win the praise of others. Amen, I say to you, they have received their reward.

3 But when you give alms, do not let your left hand know what your right is doing,

4 so that your almsgiving may be secret. And your Father who sees in secret will repay you.

5 “When you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, who love to stand and pray in the synagogues and on street corners so that others may see them. Amen, I say to you, they have received their reward.

6 But when you pray, go to your inner room, close the door, and pray to your Father in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will repay you.

16 “When you fast, do not look gloomy like the hypocrites. They neglect their appearance, so that they may appear to others to be fasting. Amen, I say to you, they have received their reward.

17 But when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face,

18 so that you may not appear to be fasting, except to your Father who is hidden. And your Father who sees what is hidden will repay you.”

Prayer Inspired by Matthew 6:1-6, 16-18

Let us pray :

Heavenly Father,

We come before You with humble hearts, seeking to honor You in all that we do. Teach us, Lord, to perform righteous deeds not for the applause of men, but for Your glory alone. Help us to remember that true rewards come from You, not from the recognition of others.

When we give, may our generosity be a secret act of love, done without fanfare. Let us not seek the praise of the world, but rather find joy in knowing that You, who see in secret, will repay us abundantly.

In our prayers, guide us to seek solitude and intimacy with You. May we turn away from the desire for public acknowledgment, and instead, close the door to the distractions of the world. Let our prayers be sincere and heartfelt, knowing that You hear us in our quiet moments.

As we fast, remind us to focus on the spiritual nourishment that comes from You. Help us to maintain a joyful appearance, not seeking to show our sacrifices to others, but to draw closer to You in our hidden struggles.

Lord, we ask for the strength to live out these teachings in our daily lives. May our actions reflect Your love and grace, and may we always seek to please You above all else.

In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

Valentines Day Song – Lord You Have Seduced Me Jeremiah 20:7

Valentines Day Song

For the watching and listening pleasures of all my friends. This song is inspired by the Bible Verse Jeremiah 20:7.

“You seduced me, LORD, and I let myself be seduced; you were too strong for me, and you prevailed. … I say I will not mention him, I will no longer speak in his name. But then it is as if fire is burning in my heart, imprisoned in my bones; I grow weary holding back, I cannot! …”

Also, listen to what love is about here.

Ref: Lord you have seduced me.

I can’t turn it down, I wanna turn it down

I can’t, I can’t, I can’t turn it down when I tried to,

For your love is so strong.

1. Like a fire in my heart, in my bones, your love burns,

and I grow weary, I can’t turn it down. 2x

2. You are too strong for me to say no,

Lord I surrender to you, take over. 2x

R. (8a) The Lord is kind and merciful.

1  Bless the LORD, O my soul;
and all my being, bless his holy name.
2  Bless the LORD, O my soul,
and forget not all his benefits.
R. The Lord is kind and merciful.

He pardons all your iniquities,
heals all your ills.
4  He redeems your life from destruction,
crowns you with kindness and compassion.
R. The Lord is kind and merciful.

8  Merciful and gracious is the LORD,
slow to anger and abounding in kindness.
10  Not according to our sins does he deal with us,
nor does he requite us according to our crimes.
R. The Lord is kind and merciful.

12  As far as the east is from the west,
so far has he put our transgressions from us.
13  As a father has compassion on his children,
so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him.
R. The Lord is kind and merciful.

Alleluia – 1 John 2:5

R. Alleluia, alleluia.
5  Whoever keeps the word of Christ,

Gospel

Matthew 5:38-48

Jesus said to his disciples:
38  “You have heard that it was said, An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.

39  But I say to you, offer no resistance to one who is evil. When someone strikes you on your right cheek, turn the other one as well.

40  If anyone wants to go to law with you over your tunic, hand over your cloak as well.

41  Should anyone press you into service for one mile, go for two miles.

42  Give to the one who asks of you, and do not turn your back on one who wants to borrow.

43  “You have heard that it was said, You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.

44  But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,

45  that you may be children of your heavenly Father, for he makes his sun rise on the bad and the good, and causes rain to fall on the just and the unjust.

46  For if you love those who love you, what recompense will you have? Do not the tax collectors do the same?

47  And if you greet your brothers only, what is unusual about that? Do not the pagans do the same?

48  So be perfect, just as your heavenly Father is perfect.”

who walk in the law of the LORD.
2  Blessed are they who observe his decrees,
who seek him with all their heart.

Alleluia – Matthew 11:25

R. Alleluia, alleluia.
25  Blessed are you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth;
you have revealed to little ones the mysteries of the kingdom.
R. Alleluia, alleluia.

Gospel – Matthew 5:17-37

Jesus said to his disciples:
17  “Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets. I have come not to abolish but to fulfill.

18  Amen, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or the smallest part of a letter will pass from the law, until all things have taken place.

19  Therefore, whoever breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do so will be called least in the kingdom of heaven. But whoever obeys and teaches these commandments will be called greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

20  I tell you, unless your righteousness surpasses that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven.

21  “You have heard that it was said to your ancestors, You shall not kill; and whoever kills will be liable to judgment.

22  But I say to you, whoever is angry with his brother will be liable to judgment; and whoever says to his brother, ‘Raqa,’ will be answerable to the Sanhedrin; and whoever says, ‘You fool,’ will be liable to fiery Gehenna.

23  Therefore, if you bring your gift to the altar, and there recall that your brother has anything against you,

24  leave your gift there at the altar, go first and be reconciled with your brother, and then come and offer your gift.

25  Settle with your opponent quickly while on the way to court. Otherwise your opponent will hand you over to the judge, and the judge will hand you over to the guard, and you will be thrown into prison.

26  Amen, I say to you, you will not be released until you have paid the last penny.

27  “You have heard that it was said, You shall not commit adultery.

28  But I say to you, everyone who looks at a woman with lust has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

29  If your right eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one of your members than to have your whole body thrown into Gehenna.

30  And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one of your members than to have your whole body go into Gehenna.

31  “It was also said, Whoever divorces his wife must give her a bill of divorce.

32  But I say to you, whoever divorces his wife (unless the marriage is unlawful) causes her to commit adultery, and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery.

33  “Again you have heard that it was said to your ancestors, Do not take a false oath, but make good to the Lord all that you vow.

34  But I say to you, do not swear at all; not by heaven, for it is God’s throne;

35  nor by the earth, for it is his footstool; nor by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King.

36  Do not swear by your head, for you cannot make a single hair white or black.

37  Let your ‘Yes’ mean ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No’ mean ‘No.’ Anything more is from the evil one.”

Prayer As A Sign Of True Worship | Fruits Of Daily Meditation.

Prayer as a sign of True Worship

Prayer is not just a devout petition to God; it is a profound act of worship. It serves as a spiritual communion with the Divine through supplication, thanksgiving, adoration, and confession. Committing to daily prayer is a powerful way to edify oneself in the presence of our God, who is both our beginning and our end.

There is nothing more comforting than knowing you are journeying alongside God, our Father and Protector. I offer my humble prayers to God each day and strive to write down what touches my heart. These reflections become a source of motivation during dry spells, guiding me back to prayer when I need it most.

You are warmly invited to join me in praying the prayers of January.

Prayers for self-improvement

Jan.1, 2023, Make me humble o Lord

Yesterday is gone, dear Lord, and today is a new day in a new year. Lord Jesus, I give you all the praise, worship, and Thanksgiving. Without you Lord I am nothing. Giving you honor makes me joyful and lifely in you. Where on earth can I find joy than in you? Dear Jesus, you are my joy, my help, and my salvation. You are all I want, all I need, all I have in the land of the living. May I be truly humble this new year for you are humble? Thank you, Jesus, praise you, Jesus. Amen.

Jan. 3, 2023. All holiness comes from you o Lord

Holy and meek Jesus, all holiness comes from you because you are holy. You are the giver of the Holy Spirit Who makes us holy because you received the fullness of Him from your Almighty Father during your baptism. You are full of the Holy Spirit proceeding from the Father and you want to pour that same Holy Spirit upon those who believe and trust in you. Lord, today I leave my heart open that you may re-awaken and fill me with the fullness of your Holy Spirit so that I may be holy as you are holy and be one with you now and forever. Amen

Jan. 4, 2023, Jn.1:38-39 You say I should come and I will see you, Lord

You said I should come and I will see Lord. I come to my Lord each day, each moment of my life, what do you want me to see Lord? Dearest Jesus, I want to see what Andrew saw and remained with you forever. Open my eyes to see what you have for me. Open my ears to hear you and make me swift to respond to your commands. Jesus, I trust in you. Amen

Jan 6 20023 You have the plan to prosper us, Lord

Thank you, Lord Jesus, for coming into the world to save us. You have a plan for each one of us, plans to prosper us, I offer you the lives of our children, dear Lord, and claim the beautiful plans you have for each of them.
