Practical Hints About True Love Or guidelines for true love.

Indicators of True Love

Practical hints about true love or guidelines for true love
In this episode, we are going to reflect on practical tips on signs of true love and try to see how they directly influence our lives and so take more reasonable decisions about our lives.
Here are some Indicators of True Love, or practical points about true love in a relationship.
  1. He/she Makes You Want to Be a Better Person. For example, if he or she came to you because he or she was attracted by your intelligence and he or she is making efforts to see you do better and better in your tests and exams, and of course, you feel so, then he or she is proving to be a true friend.
  2. You Want to Be There for Him/her in Good Times and Bad. You can’t stop thinking of him or her when he or she is in trouble or in success.
  3. You’re Confident in Your Relationship. You do not tremble or lost control of your real self when he or she shows up. You can be yourself completely around him.
  4. You Allow Yourself to Be Vulnerable. You can go an extra mile for him or her. When you’re truly in love, you are willing to expose your heart to potential pain. Love is trusting that this person will not break your heart.
  5. You say the truth always. You are not playing games, you mean everything.
  6. You always want to give. You want to do nice things for him/her.
  7. My feelings are not fleeting, I want to be with him/her alone no other man or woman.
  8. I do not dismiss him/her after one disagreement. Arguments do not end relationships.
  9. He/ she is right about my future. You See him/her in your future.
  10. I have a natural feel, or it feels natural. I Would Gladly Sacrifice for him/her.
  11. When he/she succeeds you have succeeded, or if you succeed, he/she has succeeded.
  12. I feel okay knowing that all is not roses or unicorns, I know it will at times be sweetish-bitter. It’s okay!
  13. I feel lonely without him/her. You’re true partners in life.
  14. Though he/she does make me happy, I do not rely on him/her totally for my happiness. Being happy depends on me, I own the power to decide whether to be happy or not.
  15. Smiles are one important way to express our love. I Love to Make Him/her Smile. I Would do anything for him/her to be happy.
  16. We are so free in public eyes so much that people say we are a perfect match.
  17. I can accept his/her weak points. Softly with love we often talk about it. This could lead to a long-term change.
  18. I am thinking we could make a family in the future. Married, live together, have kids.
  19. She shares good news with him/her first thing. He’s the first person I turn to in joy or difficulty.
  20. I wish seeing him/her soon. You spend time apart but think of him/her.
  21. You wait for him/her. You would rather watch movies on the couch than go out.
  22. You are open. You have told him/her all about you.

Indicators of True Love
May all these guidelines help us to grow in love the way God wants. The Bible in 1 Corinthians 13 gives us genuine qualities of true love. Using this Bible text together with other the above guidelines on signs of true love, let us examine our lives and make amendments where necessary. The text goes:
“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, and it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts always hopes, and always perseveres. Love never fails… ” 1 Corinthians 13:4-8

19  Go, therefore, and teach all the nations; baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

Agape, Storge, Eros, And Phileo Types Of Love

Types Of Love
Agape, Storge, Eros, And Phileo Types Of Love.

In our previous episode on talking about love, we discussed the different types of relationships which influence the concept of love that were Friendship, infatuation, Exploitation, and love relationships In this episode, we are going to focus on four different kinds of love experiences that usually may influence our lives. They are known as Storge, Eros, Phileo, and Agape.

STORGE: Storge is family love. It is the natural love that family members feel for one another. It accepts people for who they are and loves them where they’re at. Family members will continue to love their own in all conditions; even when they are disabled, wayward, or heart hearted. We never grow tired of loving our own no matter what. That is to say, there is no room for unforgiveness or bearing grudges with your blood brother or sister. It is based on a family connection. Bible Verses: “Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.”

•EROS: It is a kind of Sexual Love that says: “I want you. I want to consume you” It is referred to today as Erotic love. This word is not used in the Bible, but the concept is seen throughout. It describes a sexual love that is either good or bad based on the context. Eros is a physical attraction that is highly emotional and sensual. It can only be fully enjoyed with God’s blessing within the covenant of marriage. Bible Verses: Song of Solomon 1:2 to 4 says, “Kiss me and kiss me again, for your love is sweeter than wine. How pleasing is your fragrance …”

•PHILEO: It is a type of Brotherly Love that Expresses feelings over reason. In this kind of love, there is always a reason why I like you. A kind of affection that says: “I like you because of, something ” Maybe your ways, your hard work, sportsmanship, swimming ability, or your way of talking. today It is also Philanthropy – Love of Mankind related. This word is used often in the New Testament as the underlying word for love. 1 Thessalonians 4:9 says, “Now about your love for one another we do not need to write to you, for you yourselves have been taught by God to love each other.” Hebrews 13:1 also says, “Let brotherly love continue.” A compound word of phileo and storge is found in the words like “be kindly affectionate” and speaks of the special familial relationship of God’s people through Christ.

AGAPE: It is also known as Divine Love. This is godly Christian love. It is committed, sacrificial love. It says, “I commit to you.” or “I love you because I choose to love you.” I do not put any condition to it nor do I want you to give it back. This is the love that God has for us, that we should have for Him and for others. It is the strongest of all loves. The Bible Verses in John 3:16 says “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 13:34 to 35 talks about this kind of love too“ A new commandment I give unto you, That you love one another; as I have loved you. By this shall all men know that you are my disciples if you have love one another.” Characteristics of God’s Agape’ Love are found in 1 Corinthians 13:4–8 says, May this reflection help us to grow in our love for God, our family, and one another.

Gospel for Seventh Sunday of Easter year A – John 17:1-11A

1 Jesus raised his eyes to heaven and said, “Father, the hour has come, glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you.

2 just as you gave him authority over all people, so that your son may give eternal life to all you gave him.

3 Now this is eternal life: That they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.

4 I glorified you on earth by accomplishing the work that you gave me to do.

5 And now glorify you me, O Father, with yourself, with the glory which I had, before the world was, with you.

6 “I revealed your name to those whom you gave me out of the world. They belonged to you, and you gave them to me, and they have kept your word.

7 Now they have known, that all things which you have given me, are from you

8 Because the words which you gave me, I have given to them; and they have received them, and have known in very deed that I came out from you, and they have believed that you did send me.

9 I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them whom you have given me: because they are yours,

10 And all my things are yours, and yours are mine; and I am glorified in them.

11 And now I will no longer be in the world, and these are in the world, and I come to you.

Personal Prayer – My April Prayers for Self-improvement

Personal Prayer

When an individual in a quiet mode, prays; pouring out the self in loud or hidden cries of supplication, thanksgiving, praise, worship, listening and or petitioning to God, it is known as Personal Prayer. Personal prayer wells up from the depths of the heart of the person who prays with faith. Personal prayer can also be inspired by several practices like frequent reading of the Bible and meditations, the reading of liturgical material and participation in liturgical or community prayer. Personal prayer is personal and peculiar to the person, guided by his free will, but can also be shared in a group when members are requested to pray individually to the hearing of all. Personal prayer gives you the assurance that you are with God, and God is with you. Personal prayer can be in words, in songs, and in written forms. I am grateful to God for His grace that led me in the month of April, to meditate, pray and write down some of my personal prayers. When I write down my prayers, I feel so secured because it would serve as a great source of motivation to me when I get back to them with awe, especially on days of dryness. I would listen to the audio prayerfully where ever, and whenever I’m chanced, and this makes me most often to feel, I’ve been praying all day. Feel very free to pray with me by listening to the audios or by reading through in faith. You will not go empty-handed but full of graces for our God is so generous. Let us pray

Jn.11:47-48 April 1, 2023 – Everything works for my good, dear Lord

Loving Jesus, you embrace the cross even though you were accused for unjust reasons. You gave your life for our good; the salvation of the world. You teach me that everything works for the good of those who put their trust in you, be it sickness, pain, suffering, or persecution. Give me the grace to see my difficulties and those of my family as means to success. Thank you, Jesus. Amen

Mt.21:8-9 Palm Sunday Apt 2, 2023 – You saved me, Lord

My Saving Lord, you saved me by your suffering and death on the cross. Courageously and lovingly you embrace the cross for my sake. Oh Loving Jesus, as I journey with you on days of suffering help me remember that you are truly by with me. I carry my entire family, living and dead, and all our difficulties and illnesses, to journey with them along with You to Calvary where You would save us again. May I feel Your company on the road, o Saving Lord? Jesus, I trust in you Amen.

Jn,12:4-5 April 3, 2023, – I want to be closer to you, Lord

My loving Jesus, when I remember that you suffered and died for me, it pierce my soul and I would love to show you an act of kindness this Holy Week more than before. I want to be very close to You lord, in my thoughts, words, and deeds to others and in true worship of You, and in my discussion with You. Be with me too, Lord. I trust in you. Amen

Jn.13:31- 32 April 4, 2023: Everything glorifies your, o Lord

My Saving Lord, you embrace every suffering matted on you by your persecutors and you gain your glory through them. Every bit of pain they inflicted on you gloried you. Dear, Jesus, may the pain and all the trials I endure in life be for your greater glory. May not any of them cause me to leave your presence. Jesus, I love and trust you. Amen –

Mt.26:14-16 April 5, 2023,  I offer you my activities, o Lord

My loving Jesus, you want me to be your true friend. I offer you all my activities, especially those that attempt to pull me away from you. Help me to reorganize my doings so that all may be only for your glory. Let me always be closer to you my God. Jesus, I love you. Amen

1cor.11:23-24 Holy Thursday. You instituted the Eucharistic Lord

Loving Jesus, our Sacrificial Lamb. You instituted the Holy Eucharist as a means through which you come to meet us physically in every Mass. You asked us to always celebrate it in memory of you. What a great mystery, o Lord, to know that you are physically present in every Mass. Open my eyes today to see you in a special way in Holy Mass and in every Mass I attend. Saving Lord, I trust in you. Amen

Holy Saturday, April 8, 2023, Let me keep vigil with you Mother Mary

As on the First Holy Saturday, Mother Mary, may I keep vigil with you. May I sit by you waiting and hoping for the return of your Son our Lord Jesus Christ. To tell you that I love Him too and I truly want him in my life. Give me the grace to joyfully await the grace of new life He so desires to give me.  Mother Mary, pray for me. Jesus, I love you.

Jn.20:17 April 11, 2023, I worship and praise you my Risen Lord

My Risen Lord and Everlasting King, I join the Angels and Saints to praise and worship you, who is glorified in heaven and are also alive and active in our midst. Death could not hold you captive but you conquered death and are now in our midst. You’ve won a new life for us and are now one with us. I leave my whole being open for you to come and make it your dwelling. Make my heart a temple for your Spirit to continue to live and minister to your people. May we be one o Lord, you in me and I in you? I want to clink to you forever. My Risen Lord, I trust in you. Amen

April 12, 2023. Fill me with your Spirit of understanding the Lord.

My Risen Jesus, unlike you did to the Apostles of Emmaus, fill me with your spirit of understanding, Lord, that I may read your word with more understanding. Fill me with reason and insight for every word, phrase, or sentence I read in the Bible and all that you want to transmit to me through them. May my heart and whole being be transformed by the power of your word and may I be able to transform others? My Risen Jesus, I trust in you. Amen

Jn. 20:17 April 13, 2023, Help me to understand, Lord

My Risen Lord, you took time to internalize many things about yourself to your disciples at your resurrection and you continue to do that today to those who trust in you. Open my heart, my mind and my whole being to understand your Paschal mysteries better, and your mighty resurrection power upon us. Let me find meaning in every bit of your word for my self-transformation and to help others in your name to be transformed. Mighty Jesus, I trust in you. Amen

Jn. 21:12-14 April 14, 2023 lord Jesus, I know you are with me

My Risen Lord, you showed yourself to your Apostles several times to assure them you are true to them. My loving Jesus I know you are with me and you will continue to be with me till the end. Give me the grace to recognize your presence in me always for you are mine and I am yours. Mighty Jesus, I trust in you. Amen

Mk.19:9 April 15, 2023, You see me with your loving eyes, Lord

In my struggle to love you more, o sweet Jesus, you see me with your loving eyes because you hate but the sin and you love the sinner. Forgive my past, dear Lord, and give me the grace to love you more and more.
I surrender all those I’m praying for at the moment, have mercy on them, and see them with your eyes of love. Merciful Jesus, I trust in you. Amen

Jn.3:1-2 April 17, 2023, There’s something that makes me come to you

There’s something that makes me come into your presence, Lord. Like Nicodemus, I know that you are different from all, you are God’s own, the Messiah, who comes to save me. You are the Truth, you are a friend so dear. You are my helper. Be it in the open or in the dark, I know that I love you and I want to be with you now and forever.  Sweet Jesus, do with me what you want, Lord. Amen

Jn.6:12-13 April 21  Your grace is superabundant, Lord

My generous Lord. You nourish my soul every day and your grace is still superabundant for me. Help me to be able to dig deeper and deeper into your word and your life in order to be continuously and fully nourished by you. My Lord and my God, You are my Divine Provider of superabundant graces, now and forever. Thank you, Lord. Amen

Jn.6:19:20 April 22, 2023, Even in the storms, You are with me, Lord

My Risen Jesus, you are great and worthy in your name to be praised and adored. I know that you who walk upon the sea even at night and calm the storm, are with me always. There’s nothing, just nothing that can separate me from you. You are the beginning and end of my life and the mighty power of your resurrection is at work in me, and upon all I have. By day and by night, in the storm and out of the storm you are with me and will accompany me till the end. My Risen Lord, I trust in you Amen.

Mark 16:15-16 Feast of St Mark April 15, 2023. Lord, bless the works of my hands

My Lord and my God, as I do little things quietly for the glory of your name, please, bless the works of my hands
Make them fruitful as you want. Inspire my thoughts, ways, and everything I do, making it look like your glory and be for your glory. Let me just do the best I can by your grace. Give me your grace, Lord, to do the things I love only for the glory of your name and for my love for you. St. Mark, pray for us. Amen

Jn.6:40  April 26, 2023.  Let me see you more clearly Lord

As I gaze on you in the Tabernacle, in the Host, in Holy Pictures, through your saints and Holy icons, let me see you more clearly, Lord. Help me to contemplate your face, your loving countenance even through your Mother’s Face as you showed me that day. From your beautiful Mother’s Face came your Face. It was super beautiful. I shall never forget it. Truly you are a great friend Lord. Help me Sea you at all times and more in others.

Jn.6:51 I do believe, Lord, in your Body and Blood offered for me

That you offer your body and blood for me and the Life of the world, is a difficult thing to believe, dear Lord, but I do strongly believe that you did this for me and for the salvation of the whole world. Give me the grace never to doubt your saving power, o Jesus, and deepen my love and understanding of your Body and Blood available for us in the Holy Eucharist. Bless those who do not yet believe to believe.  Thank you, Jesus. Amen

Personal Prayer

Jn.6:66-67 April 29, 2023, Yes Lord, I believe

Yes, Lord, I believe that You are in me and I am in You. Yes, Lord, I believe that when I receive your Body and Blood in the Holy Eucharist, your Body and Blood mix with mine and we are one. You live truly in me and I in You. We journey together, dine together, go places together, reason together, do things together, and say things together. My Eucharistic Lord, I trust in you. Never depart from me. With You in me I will never be afraid, I will keep trusting and journeying on with You till the end. Thank you, Jesus. Amen.

A Deeper Look On What Love Is

A Deeper Look On What Love Is

What Love is about

Psalm 136

This Psalm is known for its repetitive declaration of God’s steadfast love. Each verse concludes with the phrase, “for his steadfast love endures forever.” It reflects on God’s creation, deliverance, and faithfulness.

Psalm 63:3

This verse expresses deep love and longing for God:
“Because your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise you.”
This highlights the value of God’s love in the life of the believer.

Both Psalms beautifully convey the significance of love in the relationship between God and His people. But then, what is love?

When we talk of love, many people would say it is one of the most important human emotions. Yet despite being one of the most studied behaviors, it is still the least understood. Many people would also say love is a set of emotions and behaviors characterized by intimacy, passion, and commitment. They say it involves care, closeness, protectiveness, attraction, affection, and trust. This class of people insinuates that true love can still be possible.

Still, on the same topic, others would say love is to be expressed, enjoyed, and consummated at all times. The concept of true love is not clear to them. However, some truths hold that Love can vary in intensity and can change over time. It can have different meanings to different individuals depending on the dimension of their approach to what love is all about. Here, in this write-up, I would like to revisit the context of love again with the young, giving my own views on how love should be.

Love begins when we start maintaining healthy relationships, enjoying being with others, developing friendships and intimate relations, caring about others, and letting others care about us, contributing to our community. Love includes the dimension of relationships, emotions, and striving for unity. Love is also where the meaning of human life is most easily known through our heart desires.

In my own conviction, I would like us to examine the different relationships we should talk about as far as love is concerned or that give different meanings to the concept of love. The relationships I would like us to pay great attention to their meaning in relation to love are Friendship, infatuation, Exploitation, and love relationship.

FRIENDSHIP: Normally, we need friends at every stage of life. Some need many, some a few but one cannot have more than one true friend. People make friends of all ages, different backgrounds, colors, religious values, ideas, and sex. Yes, this is good, and I believe that’s how God created us His children to be. “One cannot be an island”; as my people would say, meaning one cannot live in isolation.

INFATUATION is love at first sight. A stage of being temporally filled with intense unreasonable love emotions for a person. Infatuation is motivated by the physical look, skin color, or dress of the person you are seeing at a particular time. Common with teenagers because of their stage of life and their growing strong emotions. The strong emotions or feelings here float, that is, they are strong and move from desiring one person to another. All these are normal and sincere expressions of what teen boys and girls go through but can be confusing with true love, thus, being dangerous if they are too preoccupied with it and forget their other responsibilities, or fail to channel this energy in the right ways.

So, Young boys and girls should not confuse this strong emotional feeling for love and thus go astray. The consequences of the wrong use of emotions here are pregnancy, abortion, difficulties to have a future husband, prostitution, masturbation, etc. We can now ask ourselves whether we had been victims in this regard and what are our efforts to readjust our lives.

EXPLOITATION: This in the name of love is when you use someone for your own interest or purpose. An example is the practice of “sugar mummies and sugar daddies”. That is People who deceive young boys and girls with little gifts or big money to flirt with them. A selfish relationship in which you use somebody and get what you want to get without any respect for the person’s self-dignity or gratitude for the person. This exploitation kind of love gives rise to rape, pornography, prostitution, child abuse, etc. Such sexual abuses leave deep emotional wounds, especially on young people. A short definition of this kind of love is “Taking”

LOVE RELATIONSHIP: Love is a deeper and more steady relationship that is not floating from one person to another. Many love relationships are without sexual intercourse, e.g. parents and their children, brothers and sisters, true friends, honest and holy teen boys, and girls. Love is the most beautiful of all human relations when approached the right way it should be or how God intended it to be. Love is God himself because God is Love. A brief definition of this kind of love; TRUE LOVE, is “Giving” (caring) while false love is ‘taking’ (exploitation). In true love, I would always want to help the one I love to grow and be a better person than when I met him/her. Much of our happiness depends on the depth and constancy of our love relationship. We spend our whole life learning to love truly. This is what brings true joy and happiness that we long for every day, not our millions. True love is still possible nowadays for those who love to live it. A love relationship actually is supposed to be true just as God created it to be.

To conclude on what love is, I would say, remember, “True love is Giving while false love is Taking”. As young boys and girls nowadays, we should ask ourselves how far have we lived the concept of love. Have we been victims or victors of the above relationships? Is there a need to correct our lives, make amends, reconcile or adjust our ways? In which relationship are you at present? Are you/your partner giving or taking? If he or she is “taking”, then reconsider your love relationship.

The English language alphabet is one of the most widely used writing systems in the world. It consists of 26 letters, each with its own unique sound and shape.

Understanding the English language alphabet is essential to learning the language and communication, as it is the foundation of written and spoken English. The English language alphabet is based on the Latin alphabet, which was introduced to Britain by the Romans in the 1st century AD. The Latin alphabet had fewer letters than the English language alphabet, but it formed the basis for the modern English alphabet that we use today.

The English language alphabet consists of 5 vowels and 21 consonants. The vowels are

A, E, I, O, and U.

These letters represent the sounds that we make when we speak without closing our mouth, tongue, or lips.

The 21 consonants represent the sounds that we make when we speak by closing our mouth, tongue, or lips, and they are

B, C, D, F, G, H, J, K, L, M, N, P, Q, R, S, T, V, W, X, Y, and Z.

Each letter in the English language alphabet also has a unique shape. The shape of each letter represents the way that we write it, and it helps us to recognize and learn the letters.

Some letters, like A, B, C, D, E, F, G, and H, are written with straight lines and curves, while others, like M, N, and W, are written with more complex shapes. One benefit of learning the English language alphabet is that it makes learning English easier. Once you know the alphabet, you can begin to read and write English words. This is because English words are made up of letters from the alphabet.

For example, the word “apple” is spelled A-P-P-L-E, and the word “cat” is spelled C-A-T.

In conclusion, the English language alphabet is the foundation of written and spoken English. It consists of 26 letters, each with its own unique sound and shape. Understanding the English alphabet is essential to learning the language and communication. It also makes learning English easier since it allows you to read and write English words.
